Ninja Town celebrations - preorder pocket plush ninjas and parties

Image from the NinjaTown Ninja Town sneak peek flyerNinja Town is going to be arriving with quite a bit of fanfare in the US - a bit ironic. You’d think a ninja themed game would stealthly slip into stores, but Ninja Town doesn’t star typical ninjas, so I guess it fits. In case you haven’t heard of the game, it is a tower defense style title, which means you have to protect a certain area and keep enemies from progressing, and you strategically place ninjas on the map to accomplish this goal.

Ninja Town‘s release is going to be celebrated with a limited GameStoppreorder promotion and parties attended by the people behind the game. First, the GameStop promo - the first 200 people who preorder the game will receive a small stuffed toy of Ninja Dropping, Business Ninja, Feroshi the dino slug, Wee Devil or Zombie Ninja.

The special Ninja Town parties are being held in San Francisco, New York City and Chicago. If you’re apple to make it, you’ll be able to try out Ninja Town on available DSes, purchase Shawnimals. Also, signed and numbered pocket plush Master Ninja toys, like the one appearing in the game, will be available. The first party happens this week - on September 19-20, 2008 at Double Punch. It lats from 7-9pm on Friday, and 1-5pm on Saturday and Shawn Smith, the creator of Ninja Town and Shawnimals, will be there. On October 3, 2008, from 5-8pm, there’ll be another event at MyPlasticHeart in New York City. Jeremy Pope, Ninja Town‘s producer, will be on hand to help celebrate. Finally, on October 11, 2008, from 5-8pm, there’ll be a party at Rotofugi. Both Shawn Smith and Jennifer Brody, the Shawnimals and Ninja Town creators, will be attending that event.
