PlayDetective: HeartBreakers, a casual detective game from independent publisher Kayo Games, is now available for Macs. The successful private investigator simulation has been adapted to run on Macs with OS X 10.4 or later. If you think you’re good at uncovering people’s secrets, or always wanted to be a spy, then the free trial may be worth investigating.

As the detective in PlayDetective: Heartbreakers, you take one of 15 cases and attempt to find out whether the person’s spouse or significant other is being faithful. You wire-tap phones, save text messages, take pictures, interview suspects using a lie detector and follow suspects to find the truth. You can also take a break from the case to play in a casino and earn money for new items.

PlayDetective: Heartbreakers was previously released for PCs running Windows. Kayo Games is also developing Flash, iPhone, iPod Touch and Windows Mobile devices versions of the game. The trial versions are, of course, free, but the full versions of PlayDetectives: Heartbreakers cost $9.95. The Windows version works on Windows 9X and up and requires DirectX 7.0.
