Burnout Paradise update to include motorcycles

Burnout Bikes

The next massive update to Burnout Paradise will be released next Thursday (September 18, 2008) on PSN and Xbox Live. This update will bring motorcycles to Paradise City and will mark the first time bikes have ever been in a Burnout game. Unlike the cars, the purpose behind Burnout‘s bikes is not to witness outrageous crashes. Bikes will introduce a whole new element of speed with an emphasis on style and control. If you do crash, the rider will fly off the screen without showing them flailing about on the pavement.

Initially there will be two motorcycles to choose from with male or female riders. You’ll build up your bike license by competing in 38 new racing events called Burning Ride and Midnight Ride. There will also be day and night cycles with dynamic weather effects that can be customized to an individuals liking.

Taking the game online will boast 70 new Freeburn Challenges exclusive to bikes. Half of the challenges will be timed and the other half will be goal oriented. Best of all, this content will cost the low low price of nothing.

Criterion Games will bring out even more content for Burnout Paradise in the future including Trophy support for the PS3 version of the game.
