Tony Hawk’s Motion announced for DS

Tony Hawk's MotionThe latest game in the Tony Hawk skateboarding franchise titled Tony Hawk’s Motion has been officially announced for the Nintendo DS. Activision says we’ll be able to “twist, tilt and turn through various skateboarding sessions” which suggests this title will bring some changes to the Tony Hawk games we’re used to playing as well as introduce a new peripheral to the DS.

Tony Hawk’s Motion will utilize a Motion Pack developed by Kionix, a company that specializes in motion sensing products and will slide right into the GBA slot on the DS. This game will also feature some snowboarding action as well spanning more than 20 levels. It is very odd for snowboarding to be in a Tony Hawk game but Activision may be using this to test the waters before they bring more motion controlled games to the DS.

When the rail grinding has come to a halt, we can pop in another game called Hue Pixel Painter that will come bundled with Tony Hawk’s Motion. This game will also use the Motion Pack in order to bring color to the game’s world. It sort of sounds like De Blob but Activision isn’t saying too much about the game.

Tony Hawk’s Motion will be available in November 2008 for $39.99
