The days are counting down to the September 5, 2008, European release of Spore with the North American release just a couple days later. If the Spore Creature Creator is any indication, we can expect Spore to be flying off store shelves the minute the doors open.
That’s probably why it’s a good idea to go ahead and pre-order the PC version right now straight from EA. You can also pre-order the Mac version of the game at Green Tree Online. Keep in mind this pre-order isn’t for the disc version of the game but for the option of pre-loading the game on your PC or Mac so you can play it on release day. If you want to pick up Spore Galactic Edition, you’ll have to purchase it from retail unfortunately.
Once you’ve pre-ordered the game Spore will appear in the EA Download Manager. From there you’re allowed to download 99% of the game onto your hard drive and the remaining one percent will be downloaded on Spore‘s release date depending on where you are. EA would also like you to know that your credit or debit card statements will show you purchased Spore on August 28, 2008. I don’t know the meaning behind this but it’s nice to know regardless.
